Friday February 5th a crawler crane collapsed around 8:30 am in lower Manhattan while workers where lowering it to secure it due to high winds. Residents had to be evacuated from buildings around the crash site due to the fear ff a major natural gas leak. The crane crashed down onto several parked cars killing one man and injuring 4 others, 3 of them have serious but non threatening injuries. Debris was seen as far as two city blocks away. The FDNY have been sweeping all the surrounding buildings, every 15 minuets to check the natural gas levels. So far the levels have not been high enough to raise any fear. It will take till about Monday till the area is back to normal.
What made the crane's integrity fail?
How would you react if you saw this?
How do you clean this big of a mess up?
