Payless is now pulling a boys' shoe form shelves after a child's pair ignited and caused a fire in his family's vehicle. The child left his shoes in the back of the car, and later that day when they got into the car later the back seat was charred and smokey and the shoes were on the ground burnt up with the wires exposed. The lithium ion battery super heated to the point of ignition when from what i'm guessing the wires somehow crossed. |
So this blog is an update on the status of my project. Wednesday I was talking to Captain McCarthy from Lindenwold Police and he happens to be good friends with the owner of Linden Auto Body and is going to put in a call for me to see if they can donate a car to cut for my project. I am also going to see my chief sometime next week to see if we have a fire extinguisher trainer ( I believe we bought one last year and haven't used it yet) and if we do have that I would like to include a tutorial on how to properly and safely use a fire extinguisher. I'm going to start really crunching down on timing things, I would like to be able to time how long an extrication will take but they don't happen all the time, so I can't really time it, I'll just have to go off of previous ones.
Lindenwold is starting to see work again, with there being 2 fires in 4 days things are starting to heat up. Friday night 3/12/16 a single family dwelling on the 200 block of West Maple Ave. caught fire from what is believed to be started from the window air condition unit. Also early Monday morning around 1:30 am The Pines Apartments caught fire staring in the bedroom the bottom unit and auto exposing to the unit above, luckily only 2 units we lost.
This tattoo is a band of a thin red line which in the symbol for firefighters who have payed the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. They also have a blue one for police, so what I want to get is this on my upper left arm but I want to do half red and half blue, to show my love for firefighting and law enforcement. This is like a memorial for all the fallen men and women who have payed the ultimate sacrifice and it is a reminder to me to never forget the sacrifice they paid and to always stay on my toes while on the job. |
