Wednesday April 6th, 200 New York City firefighters responded to 740 Park Ave. which was an Art Deco apt. building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, it is home of some of the city's wealthiest individuals. The fire was reported around 15:00 and was quickly brought under control by firefighters, 3 sustaining minor injuries . It appeared to have started on the 6th floor, and the cause is still under investigation. One apt. belonged to J. Ezra Merkin, a wall street hedge fund manager who invested $1.8 Billion of his clients money in Bernard L. Madoff's Ponzi scheme. |
